The LPGA tour will be bringing the world-renowned 2012 RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup to Phoenix Arizona during March 12-18.
The RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup, which honors the 13 women who started the LPGA in 1950, will be held on the green of the Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, a premier North Phoenix hotel and resort.
The tournament has been expanded to a four-day, 72-hole format, and will have 132 of the world’s top ranking women golfers, all competing for pride, a $1.5 million purse, and the promise of $500,000 to the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program.
For the first time, the Founders Cup will also feature a special tribute to LPGA “Pioneers” who had a major role in creating one of the most successful women’s sports organizations in history.
